Why I Do What I Do: As someone who experienced child abuse, it is important to me to show love to children and to be a resource for parents.
Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University (SDSU), which is the first and only bachelor-level program in California to receive recognition from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). She has a master’s degree in Human Development with a specialization in Early Childhood Development from Pacific Oaks College and Children’s School in Pasadena, California. Michelle is now pursuing a PhD in Education in a joint doctorate program with SDSU and Claremont Graduate University (CGU). She also has a Site Supervisor Permit, qualifying her to supervise and serve as a coordinator of curriculum and staff development at any preschool or child development center in California.
Michelle is a member of the National Black Child Development Institute and is currently a board member on both of the major early childhood professional organizations in San Diego: the San Diego Association for the Education of Young Children (SDAEYC) and the San Diego County Family Child Care Association (SDCFCCA).
She is also a certified CPR and First-Aid instructor in San Diego and Imperial Counties. But most of all, she LOVES supporting, loving, educating, giving to, and caring for children and parents.
